When we decided to sell our house, we knew we would have the hard task of picking a realtor. We both have lived in Squamish for over 30 years and know most of the realtors in town. We started a checklist of the things we felt were important to us when picking a realtor. As store owners for over 25 years, we know the importance of customer service, good work ethic and having credibility in the community. Tara Hunter came to mind. I’ve known Tara for a very long time, on a social level as well as a customer of mine. My husband and I both felt confident we had picked the right realtor to sell our home. With the economic downturn, we hadn’t picked the best time to sell but we so badly wanted to downsize. We knew Tara had her work cut out for her as we were in the higher price range.
Right out of the gate she was aggressive in her advertising. I hear lots of people say to me ‘I’m selling my house and I want a realtor who doesn’t do open houses’ WRONG! Tara was the Open House Queen! The offers we did get, including the people who bought our home, came from people who came to her open houses. There were many things we liked about Tara, one thing that really stuck out was that after every showing or open house, she would send us an email giving us feedback. There was never a lack of communication between us. Selling our family home was emotional and I was unsure if we would find that perfect townhouse for us to start a new chapter in our life. Tara picked up on this and worked her butt off to find us that perfect home. We’ve never looked back! My two sisters and I interviewed several realtors and hired Tara to sell our mother’s home. It had never been on the market, each of us lived in different areas of BC and knew the prospect was going to be challenging. As soon as we hired Tara, she and her team were off and running. Photos, videos, marketing launch and a set time frame for offers. We received several good offers and Tara helped us go through each one to determine the best offer for our mother. And, she didn’t stop there! Tara continued long after the deal was done to stop in and check on our mom. We now know why Tara is highly recommended!
